Saving Money on Christmas Lights – Holiday Deals Edition

November 23, 2008

After Christmas sales are the best time to buy holiday decorations!  Right now they’re not cheap but if you wait until January you can buy Christmas lights and most other decorations for 50, 75, or even 80% off at your local retailers.

Every year when we haul our Christmas lights up from the basement it seems there’s always a strand or two that goes bad and we have to go buy more.  Last January we wised up and bought a bunch of lights for 80% off after the hoilday season so this year we’re not having to pay full price for new lights.

We even bought extra lights so that we could put some on the outside of the house for the first time.  We figured our young son would love having lights on the front of the house, and we were right!  He had a blast helping me put them up this afternoon and couldn’t wait unti it got dark to test them out.

Having lights on the front of the house this year is pretty neat, knowing that we bought them for dirt cheap makes it even cooler!
