"Just so everyone knows" department:

Congress and the IRS saw over 500 changes to the tax code during 2009 that impacts on taxpayer behavior in 2008, 2009 and/or 2010. The instructions for IRS Form 1040 alone this year is 274 pages long. Do-it-yourselfers BEWARE: Smart taxpayers must be able to spend dozens of hours reading tax instructions and specific forms instructions and worksheets well before you even try to put your return to paper or use an over-the-counter tax preparation program for 2009.
And if you choose to hire a tax preparer...demand to see their pocket "T-Card" or wall license proving that they are licensed to help you with IRS Examinations (audits), IRS Collections and/or IRS Appeals. Use anyone not licensed at your own peril...you will suffer considerably if the IRS later 'comes calling."

Remember President Lyndon Johnson's "War on Poverty"? Then you are my contemporary and will fully understand that President Obama's "War on Prosperity" is just beginning to "bloom" with promises of "gifts" and "success" when in fact they will be instead "rifts" between wealth-related sectors in our American society and "a real mess" in 2010, especially over matters like "the death tax" Inheritance Tax exemption amount return to pre-Obama figures.

There are essentialy only three (3) tax preparation professionals-types that are licensed to deal with IRS Examinations (audits), IRS Collections and/or IRS Appeals: Taxation-experienced attorneys, CPAs with taxation skills and federally licensed Enrolled Agents. Look in your yellow pages and online for these tax pros...at least for best results in 2009 tax return preparation.
