Worst Rewards Credit Cards – What’s Hidden in the Fine Print

November 3, 2008

The worst rewards cards are those that make you think you’re earning quality rewards but the fine print is such that you end up barely accumulating any points, miles, or cash back at all.  Here are some of the worst rewards credit cards that have recently come to our attention and the details you may not have noticed in the fine print.

Obama Spread the Wealth Card
Fine Print – According to a review by the McCain Money Group, each reward point you earn is shared evenly amongst all American taxpayers so you earn about .000000000000000001 per dollar spent.

Instead you might want to look into Blue Cash from American Express where you can earn up to 5% cash back.

McCain Maverick Miles Card
Fine Print – Based on the Obama Tax Advisors Group all your rewards points are deposited directly into a bank account that pays for flying Joe the Plumber all over the campaign trail.

Instead we recommend the Discover Miles card where you can earn one travel rewards mile for each dollar you spend.

Palin In-Style Rewards Card
Fine Print – According to media reports, a portion of each rewards point you earn goes towards funding Palin’s $150,000 clothing budget.

If you’re going to splurge on comfort and style you’d be better off earning points with the Starwood Preferred Guest credit card.

AIG Quick Cash Card
Fine Print – A recent press release from the Center for Giving Taxpayer Money to Big Corporations reveals that all cashback earned on this card goes towards paying off the quick cash AIG was given in the financial bailout.

Instead we’d suggest the Discover More card where you can get your own quick cash with 0% introductory APR on balance transfers and purchases.

Credit Card Disclaimer

Of course, none of these “worst credit cards” actually exist, I’m just poking fun at some of the political and financial headlines that have been all over the media lately.   I couldn’t come up with an concept for a Biden card, if you have one or n idea for some other card share it below.

Cute! It will be sooooo good to be done with political ads for awhile!
Of course, having to live with the outcome, whichever way it all goes,
will be another adjustment period for all of us.

How about the “Nowhere To Be Found” Biden Rewards Card. The places where you can earn rewards points are so few and far between, that no one can ever find them.

How about the Joe Biden Patriot Rewards card? The card that lets you earn rewards to be used by him or someone else in the government making you more “patriotic.” Every time you pay interest or a fee, you also get a “patriot” sticker to display in your window.

How about the “Middle Class Tax Cut” card which promises to cut your interest rate if you make less than $250,000… or was that $150,000 …..$50,000 ?? Dang that fine print !!
