Software Upgrades – A Necessary Evil

I’ll be the first to admit that I tend to put things off until “later”. Upgrading software is one of those things I’m not crazy about. Everything seems to be working just fine, I hate the thought of making more work for myself by upgrading and having to clean up the associated mess that almost always comes along with the change.

Unfortunately, I can’t run away from the upgrade task forever so you many notice some blips here and there this weekend as I do some work on the site. Looking back at the time I’ve spent getting ready for the changes, I probably should have just hired someone like Joel, the Blog Tech Guy to do the work for me. Joel was nice enough to give me a few pointers a few days ago when I pinged him with some questions. Depending on how badly I mess things up today, I might be hiring him next time instead.
