eBay Increases Listing Fees by 14.28%
January 3, 2007
In a message to eBay sellers yesterday Bill Cobb announced another fee increase:
“Let me say that, while we believe these changes are modest, we consider any changes that may impact our sellers with great care. These adjustments are the result of careful analysis and we believe they’re the right thing to do to keep the marketplace strong for our eBay.com and eBay Motors sellers.”
While this increase doesn’t effect people who sell out of eBay stores, it takes a bite out of the profits for sellers that rely on high volume, low margin auctions.

I was thinking the very same thing when I got that mail. The switch from 3% to 3.25% is sizable if done in volume. This is likely to keep happening though, because they have to make the shareholders happy and they really have no competition to try to steal market share from. If you are a big Ebay seller, maybe it’s best to hedge yourself by buying some of their stock.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!! TIME STAMP YOUR ARTICLES!!!!!!
Sorry Dave, I made a few changes a while back and I guess the timestamps got dropped. I’ll look at putting them back on the posts. Didn’t mean to cause you any heartache
