Benefit from the Weak US Dollar
September 28, 2007
The US dollar is getting weaker and the world is getting smaller. Perhaps now would be a good time to startup a small business exporting goods abroad.
According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, American companies exported $772 billion in merchandise to more than 150 foreign countries and big companies only made up about 4 percent of all exporters. This means lots of opportunity for the little guy!
A guide to starting an export business on Entrepreneur.com lists Canada and Mexico as the biggest trading partners of the US. With the Canadian dollar hitting a 31-year high against the dollar recently, the buying power just across the border might spell opportunity!
