College is insanely expensive but statistics show that salaries are much higher for people with college degrees. College may not be for everyone but in some industries it can definitely increase your earning ability. These extra earnings can really add up over the course of a career.

I agree. Sometimes it’s better if people who are intellectually challenged don’t go to college. It’s a serious decision to go to college. This kind of decision must be well thought out for it will be the student who will suffer, especially the student loan.

Those student loans and college tuition fees will definitely drown you. Even if you do part time work, it would still cause you to pay the debt. Sometime it’s better not to go to college if you’ll just end up working jobs that doesn’t need college graduates.

David makes an excellent point. I spent ~$70K to go to a private Univeristy and I came out the door with a $50K a year job and a huge debt.

Is it worth it? I did the math and in most circumstances, it is worth it. However, I’ve met several people my age (23) who worked full-time when I was in school and are now making close to $50K, too. When talking to them, it’s hard to justify my college experience.

I can’t imagine my classmates who majored in English and get paid pennies and have a ~$70K student loan to boot.
